You don’t need to do anything and certainly don’t use butt glue when she might need the toilet. Wedgies are an accepted part of gymnastics – no big deal. If you don’t make a big deal out of it, neither will she.

That’s a hard one being that she is only 8. If you are at most of her meets you should be able to go to the bathroom with her and help her. I know some gyms don’t like parents and kids interacting during a meet but this is different. You should talk to the coach and let them know that you need to help her reapply the booty glue, they should understand! You can either take a wet wipe or an alcohol rubbing pad with you and clean off the old glue; this will take all the glue off and allow you to start fresh…this will make it stick better, Good Luck!!! And tell your daughter good job for not fixing it in the middle of her routine:)

My daughter gets a wedgie at every meet! Her regular leos don’t do this, just her competition leo. A judge at the state meet actually said that she has never seen such restraint in a gymnast not *ahem* adjusting her leo during her floor routine. I just recently bought her a roll-on butt glue to use next season, but she’s only 8 years old. She has a very small bladder. What happens if she has to go to the bathroom during the meet (which she usually does)? What do other parents do?
